About the Role
As the Academic Events Officer, you’ll help make learning at Regent’s more engaging and inspiring by organising academic events that reflect students’ interests. From guest lectures to skills workshops, you’ll work with your team and the SU to bring valuable academic opportunities to campus.

Support your team to enhance the student experience within your area.
Work closely with the relevant Vice President in weekly meetings.
Work in supportive environment where if being open to learn, you will always find support and help.
Attend the weekly Executive Meetings and share your thoughts about SU and University Initiatives.
Be part of exciting SU projects and events.
Support the SU and the SU President in their aims and objectives to promote the welfare of all students on campus.

We’re looking for an organised and motivated student who enjoys planning and creating opportunities for others to learn. You should be proactive, confident working in a team, and able to bring fresh ideas for events that benefit your peers. If you’re passionate about academics and want to make student life more enriching, this role is a great fit for you.
What is this role about?
Collecting student feedback to ensure events meet real interests and needs
Working with the VP of Community Development to align academic events with the SU’s vision
Building and leading a small Academic Events Team (minimum of three members)
Organising at least two academic events per term
Supporting and collaborating with University-led events, including Careers Department activities
Providing research and reports on suitable events for your current term and for the following one.
Attending SU Executive Team meetings
Taking part in SU activities like Induction Week, Fresher’s Fair, and Open Days
Providing leadership and support to your events team while contributing to wider SU goals
