Benefits of running a society
Running a society is a fantastic way to enhance your university experience. Not only will you connect with like-minded students who share your passion, but you'll also have the opportunity to develop key skills like leadership, teamwork, and event planning.
Societies offer a platform to host social events, competitions, quizes, talks, debates, discussions on different topics and much more, allowing you to immerse yourself in activities that inspire you!

The Student Union is here to support you every step of the way. Once your society is affiliated, we’ll provide all the information, resources, and guidance you need to succeed.
How do I start a new society?
1. Think of a proposal for a society and why do you think it is important to have it at our university.
2. Make sure you have 5 people who are joining your society and are willing to meet regularly.
3. Contact us on this email:
suvpcommunitydevelopment@regents.ac.uk
4. Arrange a meeting with Societies manager and VP of Community Development to talk about your society and your proposal for the semester.
5. Wait for decision from the SU
5. Do a society presidents training with us
6. Set date, time and room for the regular meetings
7. Have fun!
