About the Role

You will lead initiatives around inclusion, support, and accessibility, and work closely with university staff to improve the student experience for everyone.

  • Attend the weekly Executive Meetings and share your thoughts about SU and University

  • Be part of exciting SU projects and events. 

  • Support the SU and the SU President in their aims and objectives to promote the welfare of all students on campus.

We are looking for a compassionate, inclusive, and proactive student leader to take on the role of Vice President of Wellbeing and EDI (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion). The ideal candidate is passionate about student wellbeing, committed to creating an inclusive community, and confident in bringing student voices into important conversations. If you are someone who values equity, wants to lead positive change, is highly proactive and enjoys supporting others — this role could be a great fit for you!

What is this role about?

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supporting the Wellbeing and EDI team, including the Social Inclusivity Officer

  • Organising and supervising wellbeing and EDI-related events, workshops, and initiatives

  • Hosting regular meetings with your team and reporting updates to the SU President

  • Representing the student body on key committees together with the SU President

  • Implementing at least one impactful project focused on student wellbeing or inclusion

  • Actively collecting student feedback to address concerns and improve the student experience

  • Taking on the responsibilities of any unfilled roles in your team

  • Supporting the Union’s ongoing EDI goals and advocating for underrepresented student groups

  • Take a proactive approach in support of the Wellbeing Department within the University

Additional Involvement:

  • Attending and contributing to SU Executive Team meetings

  • Collaborating with university departments actively on wellbeing, accessibility, and inclusion projects

  • Participating in SU-led activities like Welcome Week, Open Days, and Welcome Festivals

  • Meeting with society Presidents monthly to support inclusive society development

  • Upholding the Student Union’s values, constitution, and policies

  • Stepping in for the SU President if needed
