About the Role

Help make a difference as a Sustainability Officer. You will lead initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices, raise awareness about sustainability and inspire positive change on campus. Perfect for students passionate bout the environment and the planet.

What being an executive member entails

  • Support your team to enhance the student experience within your area. 

  • Work closely with the relevant Vice President in weekly meetings.

  • Work in supportive environment where if being open to learn, you will always find support and help. 

  • Attend the weekly Executive Meetings and share your thoughts about SU and University Initiatives. 

  • Be part of exciting SU projects and events. 

  • Support the SU and the SU President in their aims and objectives to promote the welfare of all students on campus.

We are looking for a committed student, someone who cares deeply about the planet and wants to take action. Someone who is proactive and excited to make sustainability a priority. If you are full of ideas, eager to lead eco-friendly initiatives and ready to inspired others, this role is for you!

What is this role about?

  • Actively collect students’ feedback to ensure all Student Union planned sustainability events are applicable to students’ interests. 

  • Plan, implement and report on three changes/improvements in relation to student led sustainability projects. 

  • Plan and implement at least one campaign regarding sustainability and care for the environment on social media each term in collaboration with the communications team.

  • Attend 90% of the weekly Student Union Executive Meetings.   

  • Participate in the assigned activities scheduled for the position in Induction Week (campus tours, Welcome Festival and Student Union planned activities).  

  • Provide support for the executive team and assist the Student Union in achieving aims and objectives.
