About the Role

Lead the Student Union’s communications by managing campaigns, social media, and promotional content. You’ll oversee the Communications Team and ensure students stay informed and engaged with everything the SU is doing.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a creative, proactive, and organised student leader to take on the role of Vice President of Communications. The ideal candidate is passionate about student engagement and has a strong understanding of digital communication, marketing, and social media.


You should be a team player with great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects. You should be reliable and on top of communications projects together with the SU President.

What is this role about?

Core responsibilities:

  • Leading the Student Union’s overall communications strategy and ensuring consistent, student-focused messaging

  • Creating and managing campaigns, promotional materials, and social media content

  • Supervising and supporting the Communications Team: Marketing Officer, Social Media Officer, and Campaigns & Promotion Officer

  • Hosting regular meetings with the Communications Team and providing updates to the SU President

  • Acting as a key representative for the SU by communicating transparently with the student body

  • Taking on communication-related responsibilities if any team roles are unfilled or inactive


Additional Involvement

  • Attending Executive Team meetings and contributing to key decisions

  • Supporting major SU events like Induction Week, Fresher’s Fair, and Open Days

  • Meeting with society Presidents monthly to support student-led initiatives

  • Assisting with wider SU and university projects when needed

  • Upholding the SU’s values, constitution, and code of conduct
