About the Role

Support student life through events, societies, and community projects. You'll lead the Community Development Team and help make Regent’s a vibrant, inclusive, and connected place for all students.

  • Support the SU and the SU President in their aims and objectives to promote the welfare of all students on campus.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate, approachable, and community-driven student leader to take on the role of Vice President of Community Development. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about student life, inclusion, sustainability, and wellbeing. You should be highly organised, proactive, and committed to improving the overall student experience at Regent’s. If you love building connections, supporting societies, and creating meaningful events and initiatives — this role is for you!

What is this role about?

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supporting the Community Development Team: Social Events, Academic Events, Sustainability, and Societies Officers

  • Hosting regular meetings with your team and updating the SU President on progress

  • Overseeing the planning of social, academic, societies, and sustainability events and updating the President on progress

  • Acting as a representative voice for students on key university committees

  • Supporting and working with societies, including monthly meetings with society Presidents

  • Implementing at least one impactful project that improves the student experience

  • Collecting and reporting student feedback to inform Union priorities and initiatives

  • Taking on responsibilities of any unfilled Community Development roles


Additional Involvement:

  • Attending and contributing to SU Executive Team meetings and strategy

  • Collaborating with university departments on student-facing projects

  • Participating in SU-led events like Induction Week, Welcome Festivals, and Open Days

  • Assisting with the delivery of SU events and initiatives throughout the year

  • Upholding the values, policies, and constitution of the Student Union

  • Ready to step in for the SU President if needed
