Become Regent's next Student Union President!

Following two Student Union President elections earlier this year, the position of Student Union President for 2026/27 remains vacant. The university has announced that they are opening an extraordinary election process to provide student leadership and representation continue throughout the academic year.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to represent students, work closely with senior University leadership, and help shape the student experience at Regent's.

The President will play a key role in:

  • Representing students through participation in relevant University committees and required working groups and meetings 

  • Supporting student engagement and belonging 

  • Working collaboratively with University leaders 

  • Promoting student voice opportunities 

  • Helping shape the future of student life at Regent's University London.

Who can apply

Applications are open to: 

  • Current Regent's students 

  • Regent's alumni who completed their course or graduated within the last 12 months. 

 

This is a full-time post until May 2027.

Candidates who require sponsorship under the Student visa route must be currently studying at Regent’s or have completed their studies in 2026 and meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship. 

Candidates who already have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the appointment may apply if they are current students or graduated within the last 12 months, including those with permission to work under the Graduate visa route or another immigration category permitting employment at Regent’s.

Elections timeline

Nominations open: Friday 2 October 
Nominations close: Sunday 11 October at 23:59
Voting opens: w/c 12 October (one week)
Results announcement: w/c 26 October

To submit your nomination, please complete the online nomination form and submit the required documents before the deadline. Deadline to nomination is Sunday 11 October at 11:59

Required documents

Please prepare the following documents before completing the form:

 

  • CV - Outline your academic background, experience, and involvement in student activities

  • Cover letter - Explain why you would like to become Student Union President and how your experience and interests would help you in the role

  • Manifesto - A short statement outlining your ideas, priorities, and what you would like to achieve if elected

  • Campaign poster - A poster that will introduce you and your campaign to students during the election period

  • Headshot photo - A clear photo of yourself that may be used on the election website and in election communications.

Elections Committee

The election process will be overseen by a dedicated Elections Committee comprising representatives from the University's Governance, Student Union and Student Experience teams. The Committee will be responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent and impartial process, including candidate eligibility checks, oversight of campaigning activity and management of any election-related complaints.
