About the Role

Make sure every student voice is heard. You’ll lead the Council Presidents, oversee academic representation, and work with the President to enhance the academic experience at Regent’s.

  • Attend the weekly Executive Meetings and share your thoughts about SU and University

  • Be part of exciting SU projects and events. 

  • Support the SU and the SU President in their aims and objectives to promote the welfare of all students on campus.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a confident, organised, and student-focused leader to take on the role of Vice President of Councils and Representation. The ideal candidate is passionate about academic life and ensuring every student’s voice is heard. You should have strong communication and leadership skills, be comfortable working with university staff, and ready to support Council Presidents in representing all levels and courses. If you're someone who believes in the power of student representation and wants to drive academic improvement — this role is for you!

What is this role about?

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supporting all Council Presidents with their term plans and responsibilities

  • Ensuring that every level of every course is represented through the Councils

  • Organising and overseeing council meetings and keeping detailed documentation

  • Communicating council updates and feedback to the SU President in weekly meetings

  • Coordinating Council-related events and helping manage Course Panel participation

  • Implementing at least one academic-focused project to enhance the student experience

  • Representing students on key academic committees

  • Taking on responsibilities of any unfilled Council President roles, when needed

  • Actively gathering and reporting student academic feedback

Additional Involvement:

  • Attending and participating in SU Executive Team meetings and SU-led initiatives

  • Supporting university departments with academic and student-related projects

  • Participating in events like Welcome Week, Welcome Festivals and student welcome activities

  • Upholding the SU’s constitution, code of conduct, and policies

  • Ready to step in for the SU President if necessary
