What a year this has been for all of us! We have been through so many changes and we are looking forward for our beautiful campus to welcome back our Regent's community from around the world.
In terms of sport and fitness we have planned a range of activities for the Autumn 2020 term. Let us begin:
1. Health Blog
We know that mondays can be sometimes difficult that is why we thought we should keep things relaxed. Therefore, every week we will post on our blog healthy tips to maintain an active lifestyle. Some subjects that we will cover are exercises you can do at home, gym equipment you can purchase for training at home, nutritional advice, to keep you motivated, and advice on how to manage stress and anxiety. All focused around general health and wellbeing.
2. Suspension Training Series
A "suspension trainer" is a very popular and -must have- training kit for everyone. It is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment in the gym or your home gym. You can take it pretty much anywhere — and, as part of these series, we will unlock bodyweight exercises to help you stay motivated and fit. Every tuesday, our sports officer will be posting beginner exercises focusing on various parts of the body so stay tuned!
3. Instagram LIVE Talks
Our students have asked and we will deliver!! Instagram LIVE talks are back this term with a range of guests such our sports club captains, student officers, sports coaches, welfare officers and more. The talks will have an interview structure and will go live every wednesday on our Regents Sport Instagram account. Follow us @regentsunisport to stay in the loop.
4. Social Sport Activities
For our students living on-campus we will be offering free and safe sports activities such as football, basketball, and tennis every thursday at Reid Hall sports ground. The sessions are for all abilities and equipment will be provided depending on activities.
5. Virtual Olympic Games
This is for anyone who enjoys a challenge!! 12 weeks consisting of 12 different challenges related to fitness and wellbeing. Just accept our challenges on friday, perform, tag and post on social media, that is all! Join for a chance to win a prize at the end of our virtual games!
“Is that all?” some might say however we can always listen to ideas from our Regents community, after all we would not be here without your help! Just drop as an email at sportandfitness@regents.ac.uk or message us on our social media channels.
We hope you are excited for starting the new academic year and until we go back to our beautiful campus we will leave you with this: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift...that's why they call it present” ― Master Oogway.
Regards,
Your Sports Officer
